Double Orphans of North Kigezi, a remote area of South Western Uganda.

A recent survey carried out in the Anglican Diocese of North Kigezi discovered that there is a large number of children aged between 1-17 whose lives are unpleasant and in great danger due to the death of their parents especially the deadly disease of HIV/AIDS.
Some of these Orphans are living alone in their homes when both parents have died and one of the siblings is the family head (child head families) while some have been taken over by well wishers. Guardians or grand parents.
The plight of these children is devastating. They have the stigma of the loss of their parents. They are often weak and emaciated due to lack of food, clothing, shelter, disease and are often very sick.
They lack amenities such as education, leisure, socio acceptance low self esteem, and the loss of their parents after a long and painful illness. Many stay in dilapidated housing/shelters.
These children depend on hand outs from friends of their families to meet their basic needs such as salt, soap, jelly, books, pens, pencils, medicine, clothing, bedding etc, etc.
Several who manage to get to school drop out for any of the above reasons to care for their brothers and sisters while others go out to do odd jobs to survive, such as baby sitters, bar maids, street children, shamba boys and sometimes prostitution. They are targets of abuse since they have no bargaining power against those who try to exploit them for sex in return of promised acts of charity and love, especially the young girls. This amongst other dangers continues the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Rural Communities.
Currently we have 105 “double Orphans” in dire need of monetary support for all the reasons explained.
A monthly donation of £10 per child would enable our Diocese to care for this
desperate bunch of children with every penny donated actually reaching the children.
Can YOU please help us to help the children, If you can then God Bless you and if you cannot, then please spare them a prayer and God Bless you for this also
You can contact me as follows for any further information you need including making a donation.
With every blessing,
